Marlene Erven
Has served in leadership or consulting positions with charitable organizations both nationally and in South Florida for 30 years. She has a proven track record in all areas of nonprofit management and fundraising and has a keen business and financial sense. She brings a sense of dedication and creative solutions to not-for-profit organizations.
She is a former president of Cedars Medical Center Foundation and had a successful consulting firm serving a wide array of organizations before being recruited by the Alpha-1 Foundation in 1998. She was privileged to have 14-year career with the Alpha-1 Community where she helped to build the Alpha-1 Foundation and the Alpha-1 Association into one of the premier rare disease organizations in the country. With the completion of the merger in 2014 she launched NFP Solutions to continue her service in the not-for-profit sector.
In 2014 she was also elected President of the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove and since that time worked as a volunteer to reinvigorate the Club and address core issues that can adversely affect many all-volunteer organizations. She has instituted novel approaches to financial management, business operations as well as fundraising. She is proud of her work with the Club that has laid the groundwork for its continuity and growth into the future.
She has more than a decade of active involvement in Coconut Grove's civic activities and has a passion for empowering the community and driving positive change. In her role as president of the Coconut Grove Park Homeowners Association, she has fostered a strong sense of unity among homeowners, effectively engaging them in decision-making processes and advocating for their interests.
She has the ability to quickly analyze situations and develop strategies to promote organizational growth and development with a high commitment to success. She is results driven, an outstanding communicator and effectively works with Boards of Directors, staff and volunteers. She cultivates excellent relationships with constituents and donors and is a visionary leader and motivator. Marlene is passionate about the missions of the many nonprofit organizations she has served and serves.
